Design is our way of making sense of things. Through design we try to make things better, safer, healthier, more effective, and understandable.
Design is more than decoration or the image of the final result.
Design is a process of investigation, of analysis, understanding, empathy, and action to build purpose and usefulness into new ideas and creativity.

Milton Glaser DVD Out Now

There are few enough nowadays who would not be familiar with the work of Milton Glaser, whether they realise it or not. If they don’t know, just show them this, and the reaction will inevitably be “oh, so he did that…!” or words to that effect.

Recognize it? :yes:

And this is just one example [to see more go to www.miltonglaser.com] of the work of a prolific artist whose work continues to influence across a wide range of genres.

But aside from the fantastic artwork, I think the most important attribute and legacy of this wonderfully talented man is his generosity in spirit and willingness to pass on his vast knowledge of art, design, and life-learned wisdom.
