Smart-ologic Corian® Living

“Smart-ologic Corian® Living” A smart sustainable home with DuPont™ Corian® by Karim Rashid was the title of the new promotional campaign launched in Milan 2010, and aimed to highlight the many uses of Corian® as a surfacing material.

According to DuPont: “Smart-ologic Corian® Living” proposes a series thoughts, ideas, solutions and concepts for environmentally sustainable homes, evolving from the design vision of Karim Rashid and from the know-how of DuPont in materials science and technology.

The collaboration was intended to produce a design which would showcase the environmentally sustainable qualities of Corian® and highlight it’s aesthetic qualities.

I think it’s good to see large corporations like DuPont making an effort to go down the “green” route, and any excuse to see Karim Rashid’s groovy designs is a good one.

But, how “green” is it to build even more plastic into our living environment?

Would you like to live in a plastic pad? Let me know what you think.
